The Allman Brothers Band-Eat A Peach-Super Rare 1984 MFSL Double Rock LPS

This is a near mint pressing of the MFSL pressing of The Allman Brothers Band, Eat A Peach,  issued in 1984 by MFSL, not the more recent reissue in 2012 by the new MFSL entity, which has a red border across the cover top. These LPS are pressed  at half speed in Japan by JVC (Japan Victor Company) on virgin vinyl. (Vinyl is opaque with light passing through). This is an extremely rare pressing that has a book value of $250.

The LPS are.in beautiful near mint condition with no visible marks. The LPS play beautifully quiet. Note that the LPS were tested several weeks prior to listing and cleaned by hand and not machine. They should be cleaned again before play. The cover is in excellent condition. All six corners on gatefold cover show very slight wear. There are two slight seam splits on bottom sides of both gatefold, one is less that 1/2 inch and the other about an inch. There is also about a 1 inch seam split in the middle of the front gatefold at the bottom. The top seam and the spine are strong with rub wear along top but no splits, The product information is clearly readable along the spine. There is damage at the top of the front cover near the corner. The rest of the front cover is very clean with just slight hint of ring wear on the bottom and at few points near the spine. There also very slight ring wear in few places on back cover. The product information on the spine is clearly readable .The original issued plastic inner record sleeves as well as both cardboard protective promotional insert holder are also included. The insert listing cuts and players the front of which is a replica of the cover of LP is also included and is in excellent condition. 

As to grading I grade very conservatively following Goldmine Record grading standard. Except that for records that are a notch below near mint, rather than VG++, I prefer use of grade of Excellent. I do not use VG++ grade in addition to Excellent grade as is done by some.

The LPS are being sold without reserve and payment is expected within 3 days of auction close. Return of the LPS will only be accepted if the same LPS sold and shipped are returned in the same condition .Buyers that behave in a less than ethical manner will be reported and blocked from participation in future auctions. The LPS will be separated from the cover when shipped to prevent seam splitting.
