Description
"Power of Source" by The Apollo Stars was released privately in 1974 by L. Ron Hubbard - yes, the science fiction author and founder of Scientology was also a composer and Jazz fan! He assembled The Apollo Stars from volunteers on his ship Apollo during the eight years (1967-1975) Hubbard and his followers spent sailing from port to port in his three-vessel fleet. The music is best described as free jazz; Hubbard is credited as co-composer on two of the five tracks, and as producer. There are three originals, and mostly-unrecognizable versions of Summertime and Johnny Comes Marching Home.
I spot-checked the vinyl and it's in EX condition, with a bit of noise discernible during the not-too-frequent quiet spots. There are no visible scratches or scuffs. The cover is VG+, mostly protected by the original factory shrink wrap, but the front right side is exposed and has a small gash. There's also a one-inch seam split at top center.
