Description

Ultra rare HAND NUMBERED limited edition triple silver vinyl release of "Low Level Owl" volumes 1 and 2 by the Appleseed Cast. Only 250 of these records were pressed and made available to the public. This one has never been played or taken out of their sleeves. (The photo that shows the three records is one I found online for demonstration purposes only -- the other photos are of the copy for sale, which I did not want to risk damaging in any way.) Has been stored in a smoke-free, pet-free home for three years. You will not find a more pristine copy of this record anywhere. Dead mint in every way. Better yet, if you think LLO sounds good on CD, you will not believe how amazing it sounds on vinyl.

Shipped via USPS Media Mail with tracking number to U.S. addresses. International bidders, please contact me for rates. Thanks!

Low Level Owl: Volume I is the third full-length album release from Lawrence, Kansas-based band the Appleseed Cast. The album was a departure from the heavy, distorted guitar-driven post-hardcore of their debut, The End of the Ring Wars and a progression from the layered, atmospheric, but still song-based follow-up Mare Vitalis. Low Level Owl: Volume I saw the band craft a seamless, flowing suite of post-rock influenced songs hinging on simple, repeated arpeggiated guitar riffs, swathes of keyboards and found sounds, with Chris Crisci's vocals buried in the mix.

Fusing the songs together were ambient passages and atmospheric instrumentals. The album was greeted mostly with very enthusiastic reviews, although some were put off by the intentionally repetitive nature of some of the tracks and by the connective ambient passages.

Low Level Owl: Volume II is technically the Appleseed Cast's fourth album, though it was released just two months after Low Level Owl: Volume I. The albums are similar in sound, mood and style, but the second volume is arguably more instrumental-based than the first volume, with "Sunset Drama King" and "The Argument" showing heavy post-rock influences.

The albums met with a considerable degree of acclaim, with the band found themselves saddled with the term "America's closest answer to Radiohead".[1]

The vinyl release was a 3-disc set also containing Low Level Owl: Volume I.
