For auction today. Rare and amazing! Cat # D-4.
Trevor Jones wrote the extensive liner notes and introduces each track in a detailed and technical manner before the sound is heard. For example one track is intruduced thus: "Imposing a rhythmic pulsation on the fundamental by tongue and cheek movements".
Mr. Jones explains how each sound is made and also mentions the sounds produced by didjeridoo's from different areas where they are made differently...An education. Manuscript of one of the tracks on front. Quite amazing that this even exists!
The majority of the sounds are made by Trevor Jones (a White man who taught himself how to play) but some are by native aboriginal people, recorded in 1960. The corroboree excerpt is from a real one and according to the liner notes, because of the secret nature of excerpt B6, it is ONLY to be played in the hearing of adult male aborigines from Arnhem Land.
Anyway...Cover has a 4-5 cms spine split and some fairly heavy ringwear to rear. This card sleeve is from 1963 so maybe normal for >50 years (?).
Disc has been handled with care and has tone of gloss with only a few light marks here and there. That;s it.
