ULTRA RARE - The Artwoods – I Take What I Want UK 1966 Decca F12384 Promo 7" 45 Rock Beat Mod

The Artwoods were an English R&B band formed in London 1963 and active between 1964 and 1967. Despite being a popular live band on the club circuit, the Artwoods were unsuccessful commercially and released only one charting single. Singer and frontman Art Wood, after whom the band was named, was the older brother of guitarist Ronnie Wood. Deep Purple keyboardist Jon Lord was also a member until the group disbanded

The original company (Decca) sleeve is undamaged apart from some age-related handling and fading. Graded as VG+. 


The promo vinyl easily and conservatively grades as VG. It has been played. The blue unboxed Decca four prong push out centre label shows spindle marks but is otherwise clean and undamaged. There are obvious hairlines and other marks but, despite this and the fact that it has been played, this does not impact on current play or sound quality.  On play grading there was naturally some crackle on the run in and run out on both sides and some very minor deterioration in sound quality but this was not so great as to spoil the enjoyment of the record. In particular Side B has some quiet spoken parts which are clear and not impacted at all. The surface is still reasonably clean and retains some gloss in appearance. A nice copy of a rare record.
