Description
Original Capitol/EMI Records "The Beatles 20 Greatest Hits. Released October 15, 1982. This is the 1st pressing (Spizer version CAP 12245.SR1) which erroneously states that "Yesterday" is 1:04 long (on the label) instead of the corrected 2:04 (corrected on the 2nd and 3rd pressings). The label and cover also have another error; they each state that all songs on this LP were recorded in England. This is incorrect. "Can't Buy Me Love" was actually recorded at EMI's Pathe Paris studio in 1964 when the Beatles where on tour there. It seems that all pressings of this LP have this error. This LP also comes with the original montage Beatles dust (inner) jacket.
Grading:
Record: NM- (Near Mint Minus) - some slight marks from removing the record from the special dust jacket. They do not affect the sound quality at all. You have to go looking for them to notice them. No scratches or other issues. Minor wear to the label on side 1.
Cover: VG+ (Very Good Plus) - a small amount of creasing on the cover in a few places such as near the bottom right (front) corner and a few spots along the spine (front). A few minor creases on the rear. The corners are good.
I use the grading standards as described in the "Price Guide For the Beatles American Records" (Cox/Daniels) 6th edition. These grading standards tend to be more stringent than Goldmine grading standards.
