Near Mint Mobile Fidelity audiophile LP on high quality Japanese vinyl -- The BEATLES - Abbey Road - 1969 EMI/Apple/Capitol / 1980 Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab - MFSL 1-023 (stereo). This copy was the winner in a previous "shootout" (sonic comparison) of MFSL Abbey Road LPs that I conducted several years ago. If you do research at online forums like the Steve Hoffman Forums (SH Forums), you will learn about which stamper numbers seemed to have the best sonics from among various MFSL Abbey Road pressings. For example, it was noted that among the best sounding copies, in the dead wax (trail-off vinyl) on Side Two, the stamper matrix included -- B3 131 (which is the case with this particular LP). Side One on this LP has -- A5 151. If that makes little or no difference to you, then all you may want to know is that this LP was mastered by Stan Ricker for Mobile Fidelity and pressed on high quality Japanese vinyl (which is translucent when held up to a light source). Oh, and Abbey Road is still considered among the best albums The Beatles ever recorded (a personal favorite of mine, too). Vinyl is in Near Mint condition ...sonics are the best that I have heard for this particular MFSL title (and I've owned and heard several). Cover/jacket is VG+ ...slight ring wear, light edge and corner wear, a couple of tiny crease marks and scuffs. No seam splits and no writing. Includes original protective inner sleeve and original heavy-duty cardboard insert (see photo). Enclosed in a poly outer sleeve. Low opening bid. Stored in a non-smoking environment.
