NOTE about reflections in Photos: the pictures were taken outdoors, to take advantage of natural sunlight.  This means that reflections of the sky, clouds and trees are often visible in the photos of the shiny vinyl surfaces.

Vinyl Grade: Near MINT vinyl.  Vinyl shines like new.  There are only two or three spindle marks on Side One label, very short and right next to the spindle hole (see close-up photo).  It is often difficult to count the exact number of spindle marks since they are created when someone "hunts" for the spindle hole by moving the LP around until the spindle pops through the hole.  Because of this motion, a spindle mark often "loops" around and across itself or the spindle hole, so it can be difficult to determine where one spindle mark stops and a new one starts.

The Side One dead-wax run-out grooves has what I assume to be a previous owner's name inscribed, "PETER CATHAM" (clearly visible in photos, obviously no affect AT ALL as far as playing is concerned).  This particular LP was purchased years ago from well-known Record and Music Memorabilia collector Jeff Gold.

Side Two also label has just two or three spindle marks (see close-up photo).  In my experience, the number of spindle marks is a good indicator whether a record has been frequently played (i.e., the number of spindle marks on the label resembles a Kaleidoscope), or rarely played (i.e., very few spindle marks).  This LP has been rarely played.  Please see photos, I always show close-ups of the labels at an angle to the light, to reveal any spindle marks (or absence of spindle marks) on the labels.  Vinyl shines like new.  A superb vintage UK example of this great album.

Has the desirable -1 / -1 matrix:

Matrices:

Side One:                YEX 142 - 1           P D  (at 3 o’clock)                   4  (at 9 o’clock)

Side Two:                YEX 143 - 1           P A  (at 3 o’clock)                   1 over 0 over 8  (at 9 o’clock)

Cover Grade:  VG+ due to general aging on this notoriously fragile cover (see photo).  No seam-splits, only the minor signs of aging common to all laminated UK covers of this era.   There is a small area near the spine at the top on the back (see photo of back cover, top right hand corner) that has a small tear.  The cover for "Beatles for Sale" is made of thin card-stock and has always been problematic, very hard (in my experience) to find nicer than this one.

Inner Sleeve:  Near Mint original UK EMI paper inner sleeve, with "Made and Printed in Great Britain" at the bottom center.  The LP has been stored in a modern poly-inner sleeve to protect both the record and the original inner sleeve.  No splits or other issues, a very nice example.

Notes: Nice, thick, heavyweight vinyl (weighs 156g) on this vintage 1969 pressing.  All analogue, from the original -1/-1 stampers.  Another beautiful 46-year old example of the Beatles UK "1-Box" Parlophone/EMI series, very difficult to find in this kind of condition.  If you check my other listings, you will see that I am listing all six of my Beatles 1969 "1-Box" pressings, they are the best condition examples of each album that I have found.

Packaging (open LPs): The album will be removed from the cover to eliminate the possibility of seam-splits.  The LP and cover are placed in a clear outer protective sleeve, and sealed.  The album is then sandwiched between two large cardboard stiffener pads, carefully centered and taped together.  This keeps the LP stationary and the album cover centered, allowing the oversized cardboard reinforcement pads to protect the edges and corners of the cover from dings.

The album “sandwich” is then packaged with bubble-wrap and Styrofoam peanuts in an oversize box.  The box is large enough that it should easily withstand even being dropped directly on its corner without damaging the cover inside.  I know very well what it is like to receive poorly packaged records, so I am careful to make sure your album is well packaged and arrives safely.

Tracking: You should automatically receive your Tracking Number by email when the Shipping Label is printed.
