1965 ORIGINAL FIRST PRESSING W/1ST RARE LABEL SET & F1-F1 MATRICES

Extremely rare and rarely if ever seen, this is a label mis-match that has nearly if ever been seen on Ebay!!
The Los Angeles Asterisk is stamped into the wax in the trail off area , but the labels on the disc are from the Scranton, PA pressing plant.  This an anomaly that is never seen and is a stunningly rare for two pressing plants to either send or import labels or vinyl to the other plant as labels are laid into the hot vinyl during the pressing process.  Jackets mismatched to records is common, but a mix and match LP is very rare indeed.

As a result, this is the first set I have ever listed with a RESERVE on it.  It must be this way as if Perry Cox was offering this astonishingly rare set he would easily get $400 or more.  I am not Perry, but that does not make my vinyl any less valuable.  Given my circumstances I have offered this at a very fair and inexpensive BIN value.  The reserve is somewhere just above the middle.

This is the rarest of the three versions of the American pressing of this album.  On Side 2 the tracks "In The Tyrol" and "The Chase" were credited to Ken Thorne on subsequent pressings but were omitted on the first label set as they were in such a hurry to get the orders filled they took no time to get the name of the writer and out they went till later discovered.  On top of the rarity of the set is the fact that it is stunningly clean and play Minty Fresh!

VINYL is VISUALLY GRADED as EXCELLENT and PLAY GRADED as NEAR MINT minus No scratches, one SINGLE hairline on Side One that extends across the last 2 tracks but it is strictly visually superficial and cannot be felt by a fingertip and some general light scuffing that offers no crackle and only a couple of very light tics - No POPS, No repeaters, No jumps and certainly No skips.  A very clean set that plays very well.

LABELS are GRADED as MINT MINUS No spindle marking and no writing.

JACKET is VISUALLY GRADED as EXCELLENT PLUS  Gate is firm, No seam splits, No ring wear and square corners all the way round. There is a touch of yellowing to the white finish that is clean and consistent, very nice patina with very light discolored speckling inside the gate along the opening edge and at the top right rear flat (see photos).  Very Clean!!
