A comparatively inauspicious start for this little unknown beat combo! ......and of course now highly regarded as The Fab Four's historic beginning landmark!
In it's chart success, and Sir George Martin's view a reasonable start - he was enthused by the concept of producing a pop group instead of only comedy spoken word and old style big band records, and he was very much open to working with the lads on their music!!
Indeed, he suggested that their next release should be the jaunty "How Do You Do It", his projected possible 'number one' hit 45. Well in fact it WAS number 1, but for Gerry and The Pacemakers!
Still The Beatles were off the starting line here, and certain they had more to offer than a cover tune. The flip is an excellent McCartney tune too.
'Please Please Me' got them much more attention and sales, again from the imaginative suggestions of Martin 'to make it upbeat'.
Here then is the rare edition of this landmark debut 45 - an essential original single from The Beatles.
CONDITION;
The VINYL is VG+ with a little light scuff here and there, but this plays well - and the music dominates!
Silver text LABLES are VG++, the top side has the marking 'B' as pictured. No stickers or stains.
Please see photos.
