Artist: The BEATLES
Title: PLEASE PLEASE ME
Media: LP
Recorded: 1963
Label, cat#: SANTA (AnTrop) 93 00537/38
Manufactured in: Russia (USSR)
Condition cover/record: NM (Near Mint) / NM (Near Mint)
Description: Pressed in RUSSIA in 1994. Artwork is absolutely unique to this issue, see photos! A truly scarce pressing. The reason was: by the time it was released the local collectors already had most of these tracks on vinyl due to A Taste Of Honey LP release (a few years ago) and other numerous compilation albums available locally. So the album sales were really poor. Santa label was the incarnation of the famous AnTrop label.
This is a MONO mix!
The cover is Near Mint, a true survivor. It just has some storage signs, nothing worth mentioning indeed.
The record looks Near Mint with only a few sleeve removal hairlines hardly visible. I have played the full album, it plays with no surface noise at all but at three or four passages I noticed some distortion on vocal parts (for a second or two maybe). I know for sure this was an archive copy and was played maybe 2-3 times so that's how it was pressed.
I'm totally confident you won't find it better!
The inner sleeve is an authentic Leningrad Melodya record plant one.
More interesting facts: this album was issued by the Antrop label. Most western dealers misspell the label’s name. It is ANTROP, not Anfon, not anything else! An abbreviation from the label owner’s name ANdrey TROPillo. This album is the artifact of the short “vinyl boom” period in Russia, which lasted from late 80-ies to 1995. In 1995 the Leningrad record plant stopped manufacturing vinyl…
Offered here is an original Leningrad plant pressing copy.
Grading: Strict grading according to Record Collector with no tendency to overgrading whatsoever! I inspect the records closely under a 80 W electric lamp and also always PLAY-GRADE them!
Postage and packing: Registered Air Mail (sorry, no other options for surface mail, etc.) for this item is 13 USD (10 UKP) ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD.
