REVOLVER PCS 7009 STEREO
Stereo 1966 UK FIRST PRESSING with Dr. Robert on the side 2 label.
STEREO records from 1966 were pressed in far fewer numbers than mono. Here is an EXCELLENT example of a very rare copy of REVOLVER with Dr. Robert on the side 2 label.
I won’t bore you with too many details but when John Lennon wrote ‘DOCTOR ROBERT’ that’s how he wanted the title to be on the record. Unfortunately the record covers from the 60s and onwards were all printed in tens of thousands with an error and all listed the track as DR. ROBERT and the first label batches ditto. Soon the mistake was corrected on the labels only and ‘ DOCTOR ROBERT’ was retitled correctly on the side 2 label. Most stereo copies that come up for sale have the corrected label, this is a very rare uncorrected ‘Dr. Robert’ label in STEREO.

KT is embossed on side 1. There are some spindle marks and slight blemishes on the label on side 1. Side 2 has a few spindle marks only.
The VINYL and AUDIO is an EXCELLENT example. Just a few wispy surface marks are visible and on playback the stereo sound is loud and very clear, literally there are 2 or 3 very faint clicks only. This record has been very well looked after and sounds nigh on perfect on playback.
The Garrod & Lofthouse record cover is the standard tri-flipback with ‘stereo’ in the top right hand corner. The spine is still good and strong. It has some mild handling wear and discolouration but is still a very solid VERY GOOD plus example. The white inner bag is the correct 1966 issue with ‘Patents Applied For’ and ‘Made In Great Britain’ printed at the bottom. It does have a slight split on the sides but given its fragile nature it has survived well the intervening 47 years. There are no marks or writing on the record labels, cover or inner bag. Overall this is an EXCELLENT example of a very rare pressing of REVOLVER UK stereo pressing from 1966.
