*RUBBER SOUL* UK - Mono - final pressing - 1965

NO OFFERS PLEASE - AUCTION ONLY
================================================================
Several attempts were made to correct the sound imbalance on the very first pressing of this iconic album, in mono. Now known as 'Loud Cut', with its 1/1 matrix endings, its principle problem was the dominant sound of the bass guitar, on most of the tracks. This 5/5 mix was the final change and is noticeably different from the original 'Loud Cut' and so presents itself as arguable the best sounding mono variant. ================================================================
THE DISC
Matrix: Side One: XEX 579-5 Stamper: 1-R Side Two: XEX 580-5 Stamper: 1-R
AUDIO - VG+
All tracks play perfectly, including the easily damaged 'Michelle'. There are no skips or stalls and only the occasional background 'pop' which is barely detectable. There is noticeable static noise between the tracks but it is completely overpowered by the songs, even throughout the gentle 'Michelle'. This is a great sounding disc and although Paul's exquisite bass lines are still prominent they have been toned down, to produce a much more enjoyable, overall listening experience.
VISUALLY - EX
The vinyl surfaces have retained most of their original gloss lustre. Viewed normally, the surfaces appear near perfect and only reveal the lightest of superficial light marks/lines, even when tilted against reflected daylight.
The label text is still vibrant and undamaged.

THE COVER - VG
Original 'Rubber Soul' covers don't seem to stand the passage of time very well. This example is still in reasonably good condition. There are perimeter wrinkles as well as a stress bend along the top edge. The unprotected back panel shows some age toning. The tri-flips are solid and the spine is perfect.

THE INNER SLEEVE - EX
This is the correct 'Made In England' rice paper lined inner. Lovely condition apart from age toning and some creasing. I always think that the condition of the inner sleeve generally indicates how well the disc has been treated. This one is near perfect, with no seam splits or damage to the opening edges. ======================================================================
The photos are of the actual item. I always use professional, anti-static, cleaning fluid and listen to the whole disc. Professional mailers are always used.
