Description
THIS MONTH MARKS THE 52nd BIRTHDAY or ANNIVERSARY OF RUBBER SOUL BEING RELEASED IN DECEMBER 1965.
The BEATLES "Rubber Soul" LP. record album. T 2442 U.S. Capitol MONO. ORIGINAL early pressing. The cover still has the original SHRINK WRAP. Therefore 98% of the cover is in excellent plus condition. The open end of the cover has very minor wear from age but still in exceptional condition for its age. The cover corners are in excellent condition. The only very minor imperfection with the cover is on the upper left hand corner of the back cover where a 2-3 inch blank white sticker has been placed close to the left edge just under the shrink wrap. It looks as if the sticker was placed to cover up some writing such as someone`s name etc. The sticker is hardly noticeable and certainly better than an album cover that someone has scribbled or doodled all over it or put their name on it in huge letters. SEE PHOTOS.
The record itself is in equal excellent condition. It can be played from beginning to end, both sides, with NO SKIPS, scratches, or noticeable clicks. No warps. Record surface noise is very minimal, amazing for a record of this age. It was obviously stored extremely well and played very little. Has original time correct late 1965 Capitol record sleeve. The record itself has been stored in an audiophile quality rice paper sleeve.
Being the MONO pressing, it has the shorter intro version of "I`m Looking Through You", as opposed to the U.S. Capitol Stereo version which has a few seconds longer acoustic guitar intro with a false start. The MONO version of the song has a few extra seconds at the fadeout end of the song compared to the Stereo version.
If you`ve been looking for an excellent condition copy of this MONO U.S. Rubber Soul that plays very well, this is the one you`ve been looking for. I won`t go as far as to say mint or near-mint only because I once had an unreasonably picky obsessed buyer one time who expected a near-mint description original record pressing from the late 60s to be as if it was brand new/never played first time out of the sleeve condition.....even though the record was manufactured 50 years prior. Looking at all of the U.S. copies of this album for sale on here I must say there aren`t very many in this condition, mono, shrink wrap cover etc., or if there are a very few comparable to this, they are priced way higher than this one. I didn`t see any in this exceptional condition for this low price.
I`ve tried to capture the true condition of this record and cover in the photos. Please see photos.
