Description
The Beatles Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band MONO PMC 7027 with rare ‘FOURTH PROOF’ cover.
THE RECORD: PMC 7027 XEX 637-1 /638-1
To be honest it’s not the best record I have ever seen or listened to! The vinyl has obviously been played a lot and it is still playable but the listener will notice background noise crackles and some clicks during playback especially at the beginning of each side. However there were no jumps or sticks during the sound check.
The red ‘flame’ inner sleeve is in VERY GOOD condition, these are very fragile and 2 of the sides are split and there is a slight tear on one side.
The darker green cut out insert is intact and in EXCELLENT condition.
THE GATEFOLD COVER.
This is a ‘Garrod & Lofthouse Patents Pending’ cover with ‘AR D1321’ and ‘Fourth Proof’ printed on the top right flipback on the inside gatefold. These covers were not meant for public sale as they were the final proof copies for checking before the production run started. Worth owning as a Sgt Pepper rarity! Not often seen on E Bay! The gatefold cover has some laminate creasing and chips and the spine has worn over the years and is in overall VERY GOOD (minus) condition.
