THE BEATLES
1968 - MONO - 1st Pressing *Factory Sample*
XEX 709-1 1-M XEX 710-1 2-H XEX 711-1 1-H XEX 712-1 1-H
Both discs are in great condition and play through with NO real issues, which is unusual for White album original copies in Mono
All sides still retain a good gloss lustre and display light handling/needle lines but these are minimal in comparison to most discs
Disc 1 & 2: Visually: Very Good+: All four sides are about as good as you'll be likely to find on original Mono copies For a 'White Album' mono, this could possibly merit a higher grading, knowing how poor most are visually Sound quality: Ex+/Ex/Ex+/Ex: The most important aspect of any vinyl record Audio quality is consistently high through all four sides (it is so unusual to find side 1 with NO audio issues) Side 1: Near silent run ins/outs - not a single 'pop' - perfect sound Side 2: Near silent run ins/outs - just a few odd 'pops' but nothing bad - most tracks play perfectly Side 3: Near silent run ins/outs - not a single 'pop' - perfect sound Side 4: Near silent run ins/outs - Just a couple of soft ticks on Rev9 - all the other tracks play perfectly Labels: Very Good: Expected spindle trails from a copy that has been frequently played, at least initially
Cover: #0032140 First day issue with a low number The photos show its overall condition and it still has a good structural feel ALL uploaded photos show these covers much whiter than they actually are, which can be very misleading I have used a colour filter which is closer to its actual tone and is shown in the last photo It has toned better than most, to a yellowish beige which is fairly consistent throughout There are NO original covers that have remained white and this is a common fault on Yellow Submarine covers too The spine has flaked but is uncrushed and all the text is still readable There are no tears or diagonal corner stress lines - just a noticeable pressure line across the back panel This is still a solid example and in much better condition than most
Inner sleeves: The two original black, single die-cut, inners are in good condition They are made from thin paper and very prone to tearing One inner is near perfect with NO seam splits and just a tiny tear on the centre hole The other has a bottom, and one side seam split from disc penetration and a tear on the centre hole Photos/spacer: The four photos are in perfect condition The spacer sheet, used to separate the sets when boxed by the supplier, is creased but otherwise perfect
Lyrics poster: The lyrics poster is not perfect but is intact and has not been sellotaped, see photos
Please bear in mind that although this set is not perfect, it is still in amazing condition for an original UK MONO
Professional packaging will be used with extra protection and the discs separated from the cover
