One of the hardest albums to find in decent condition in a 'Mono' format. The more frequently played first disc, in particular, usually has some audio issues. These two original pressings are in amazing condition and copies like these don't surface very often. Of course, they have been played, but on decent equipment and handled with great care. I know the uncertainty of buying vinyl 'on-line' but rest assured these discs will not disappoint.

Audio:
EX+
Crystal clear sound. Silent run-ins. Just a single pop on 'Blackbird' and a couple of barely detectable ones on the gentle 'Julia'. That's all! Every other track plays perfectly.

Visually:
EX
Lovely surfaces. Both discs are as good as they look in the photos above. Light handling marks which are completely harmless and merely brush the surface. Among the best I've ever seen.

Labels:
EX
In top condition. Expected spindle trails mainly confined to the ringed centre section.

Cover:
VG            # 0172506 So difficult to grade a 'White' album cover. This one has toned to a yellowish beige. It is in better overall condition than most original examples and has the correct blank back panel, used for mono albums. It has done its job by protecting the contents for the last 53 years. It is firm and displays minimal signs of handling with no stress bends and relatively smooth panels. Not perfect but still so hard to find like this, without any major damage or moisture stains. There are no original 'White' album UK covers that are white, because of the pigment used. My 1968 stereo copy was creamy beige by 1969. Digital cameras tend to make the images appear much whiter than they really are.

Inner sleeves:
EX
Original, single die cut. Fantastic condition for these very fragile items.

Lyric Poster:
EX
Apart from a little age toning, this example is in remarkable condition. No seam splits. Still feels very firm and fresh.

Four Photos:
NEAR MINT
Genuine originals, in perfect condition.

Photo Spacer:
EX
This item was never intended for inclusion in the package but nevertheless does turn up in quite a few. Because of the amount of manual labour involved in handling and packaging two discs at the factory, EMI sent boxes containing sets of the four headshots to retailers, who then inserted them into their stock of 'White' album covers. The boxed photos were separated by a spacer, intended to be thrown away but more conveniently discarded in with the photos.

All records are thoroughly cleaned and I will of course, continue with the surreal requirement of separating the disc from the cover, even though they have been together now for over 50 years and have left a lasting impression :-)

I will be listing more Beatles records, so please have a look
