One Beatles album on VINYL. In Very Good Plus to EXCELLENT condition.
PURCHASED NEW, played twice, then taped and stored
I'm a Beatles fanatic. My Beatles albums are my favs and the first records I taped when I bought a reel-to-reel deck. I would have a hard time deciding my favorite Beatles album from Rubber Soul on to Abbey Road. But this album is my cherished baby. It has not been played since 1969. Although released in late November 1968, this copy was actually purchased by me in 1969. I was just beginning work and didn't have to money for this expensive double album. I had hoped to receive it for Christmas present. When that didn't happen, I saved until I could buy it myself. Before the year was out I had committed the bulk of my income to collecting records, and recording them on my new Allied reel-to-reel tape deck.This album and the rest of my Beatles albums are highly collectable in that they are original releases from the 60's. I plan to list all my original Beatles albums in the next few weeks. Your input may determine the order in which I list them. I hope they all go to collectors who will really take care of them as I have.
This 30-song gatefold double album in Stereo includes two vinyl records (APPLE), the original four 7 3/4"X 10 3/4" Beatle portraits and the two-sided 23"X24" poster - ALL ORIGINAL 1968 contents. The cover is the Original EMBOSSED "BEATLES" cover. Full disclosure: John, George, & Ringo's portraits have a slight horizontal indentation across the back about one inch from their bottoms, that doesn't really affect the print side much (as you can see with the pictures). I really can't remember if it was in the original album packaging or if it was something I did. Paul's print is fine. Some sellers refer to the extras as "promo'; I suppose you could say that but, really, the Beatles were continuing their habit of offering great value with their records. The lyrics are on the the reverse side of the (really awesome) poster.
All of these vinyl records are from my personal collection, purchased by me – one owner. You should know that I treated each of these recordings very carefully. I ALWAYS handled them on the edges or the center label. I cleaned each record carefully with Discwasher before play. These records have been babied. My habit was to record these records to reel-to-reel or cassette and put the albums themselves away. All records sold here have been personally inspected by me and I’ve tried to describe them honestly – as if I was the buyer. Point is, I really took good care of these records: they have been stored upright in a custom-built record cabinet in a smoke-free home since purchase. I have not played any of them in at least a decade. They are as is.
I make the assumption that you know that ANY vinyl recording does NOT sound like digital music, that it is a mechanical sound reproduction system and that random dust particles can be in the grooves, even on straight-from-the-factory records, but certainly on used and played records. Those particles can be cleaned using a record cleaning system like Discwasher which will improve the quality of the sound. Those particles are not a fault in the vinyl recording.
