Description

The BEATLES                        WITH THE BEATLES             mono PMC 1206

A FANTASTIC COPY FROM 1964 WITH UNBELIEVABLE STAMPERS ON THE RUN OUT OF EACH SIDE OF THE LP!!

For collectors in the know EMI stamped their LPs according to the order they were pressed in using numbers and letters. If you could find a low combination of stampers you knew this LP was perhaps pressed on the first day maybe in the first hour at EMI’s pressing plant in Middlesex. In a MONO LP this was very hard to do because mono Beatles LPs were pressed in tens of thousands to satisfy demand. Well this mono LP has 1 / G stampers, indicating the first batch of pressings, on BOTH sides! Never seen before in all my years at collecting LPs (I/G and 1/R is the closest I have seen before on a stereo LP)

 Side 1: XEX 447-7N (1   G)   Side 2: XEX 448-7N  (1  G)

(When looking for these stamp marks in the vinyl run out, which are visible under good light, the number 1 is to the left of the rim text 'Parlophone' and the letter G is to the right of the word 'copying')

This copy of WtB is NOT a trashed, worn out piece of vinyl but an EXCELLENT example in AUDIO and COVER. Intriguingly the EMITEX inner sleeve is date stamped ‘APR 22 1964’ possibly by the record shop to show when it was stocked.

VINYL: A lovely platter with a nice sheen, hardly any marks on the LP. AUDIO, loud and clear mono mix, easily EXCELLENT. For over 50 years old a great piece of vinyl. Both labels show hardly any spindle trails and are lovely clean examples, there is just a slight blemish, loss of ink, from around the side of the label on side 2. KT embossed.

COVER: A very clean looking Garrod & Lofthouse tri-flipback cover with minor handling and discolouration from over the years., 3 or 4 slight laminate creases visible on the front where the record is taken out. An excellent example.

EMITEX opaque lined INNER: date stamped ‘APR 22 1964’ in excellent condition, no other writing or marks, no splits or tears.

If you are a collector into LOW stampers then this is probably the only chance you will have to own a mono BEATLES LP with the lowest possible stampers on both sides!!!
