Description

The Band – Music from Big Pink – MFSL 1-039 – Pressed in 1982.

This is the very rare original 1982 pressing by Mobile Fidelity – not the recent re-issue. I bought this new, sealed and I’ve only played it 4-5 times. Its one of my favourite albums and I thought I had heard everything that could be extracted from the master tapes but, no, as usual the magic of MFSL yields more detail, more background silence and a fantastic sense of “being there”.

The cover is Excellent. Its actually exactly like the day I opened it but there is a minor “ding” to the bottom left corner of the outer sleeve so its not perfect. I’ve tried to capture it in the photos.

The record is Ex+. I just played the record right through, both sides and there are a small number of tiny clicks, barely audible, which is normal for MFSL LPs because they chose not to over-clean the printing metals. Side 1 has some crackles between tracks but, as I say, nothing during the music. Certainly there are no scratches or anything to diminish listening enjoyment. However, I will happily refund if the buyer finds the LP rates less than EX+ on their system and the LP is returned in the condition it leaves me.

I can only say that I would be happy if I had just bought the LP from a shop.
