Description

Hello, up for auction is The Beach Boys ?– Carl And The Passions - So Tough / Pet Sounds Vinyl.  Despite the label on the Pet Sounds record stating "Stereo," it is actually in mono and includes a note that says: "This recording is pressed in monophonic sound, the way Brian cut it."  Both records are in Near Mint [NM] condition and the sleeve in Near Mint [NM] condition.  From my personal collection.  Kept in a smoke-free home.
Michael Fremer of Analog Planet says, "For my money, it's the best Pet Sounds. It was mastered at Artisan in Los Angeles and while the 1995 DCC Compact Classics version cut by Kevin Gray and Steve Hoffman and pressed on 180g RTI vinyl is very good, I think the version accompanying So Tough cut back in 1972 sounds more transparent and wide open than the one done when the tape was twenty three years older."
