Description
This is a factory sealed copy of Love You by The Beach Boys. This is a still sealed first pressing on vinyl from 1977.
This copy of Love You was purchased at a New England record shop that closed in late 1984. It has been stored indoors and kept upright since new.
Love You was released on Warner Bros. It is the twenty-first album from American pop rock band The Beach Boys. This album was mostly written by Brian Wilson and also produced by him — some consider it a solo project. The lyrics are very stream-of-consciousness and Wilson returned to the approach he had during Pet Sounds in 1966. Wilson was fond of the album and called it his most creatively satisfying work since Pet Sounds. Love You was Wilson’s first project after he became a patient under Eugene Landy’s 24-hour therapy program.
Love You includes a few tributes — “Roller Skating Child”, a tribute to Wilson’s daughters Carnie and Wendy, “Mona” a 1950s-style love song using four chords and referencing Phil Spector productions, “Johnny Carson” written for Johnny Carson of The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson.
Critics enjoyed the album, but it did divide fans and didn’t chart well due to a departure in vocal styling, production and sound from earlier Beach Boys albums. Love You has gained a sort of cult following and influenced Linsey Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac, Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth and Peter Buck of R.E.M. Wilson repeatedly called it his favorite Beach Boys album, stating in 1998: “That's when it all happened for me. That's where my heart lies. Love You, Jesus, that's the best album we ever made.”

Condition: The shrink is in good shape with some expected wear in the corners and some light scuffs/scratches and small nicks. Looking good overall.
The cover has some slight wear on the corners due to it being moved on the shelf (see photos). The cover is fairly straight with some small but noticeable corner bends (see photos). Very good condition overall.
The vinyl is brand new old stock and never been opened.
