Description
Hey all, this is an auction for The Beach Boys Pet Sounds Lp released in 1966. This album appears to be in good condition as well as still in the shrink wrap. I will detail each piece of the record with as much detail as I can below:
Jacket: the jacket appears to be in good condition. It shows typical signs of age with part of the jacket showing discoloration. Examples of this include the top right of the album and additionally around part of the perimeter, especially on the back side of the jacket. The best bet is to look at the photos provided for the best description of where certain discoloration appears. Also on the top right, there is approximately a 3” seam split, along with a tear in the shrink wrap. In this area there is also what appears to be a remnant of someone taping the shrink wrap at the top corner.
Inner sleeve: the inner sleeve also has some discoloration along the borders though it is not as easy to tell from photos due to the inner sleeves color being an olive green. If you are facing the side of the inner sleeve where an advertisement for the “beatles ‘65” album is advertised, the left side has a 1 inch seam split in the center, the bottom has a 2 inch seam split in the center, and the right side is fortunately not split.
Record: the record is in phenomenal condition. It appears to be free from scratching almost entirely with the exception of a few very very light “angel hair” marks. I had to look really closely in good lighting to find them to give you a good idea of the condition. The only mark I will note is that on the last track on side 2 “Caroline, no” there is a more obvious scuff mark but it doesn’t look like it would affect play.
Please note that the record is not play tested so I am giving this assessment based purely on what I can see. From the looks of it it seems it should play very nicely but please observe the pictures provided and make your own judgement as well.
If you have any questions please feel free to message me, and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks for looking!
