Description

Pet Sounds a 1st pressing from May 1966 on the UK Capitol label. Matrix 1/1. Stampers 1A/1A - this is a seriously early copy..most probably from the first 1,000 copies ever made. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in its original mono flipback cover printed by Garrod & Lofthouse with patents pending. Also included is the original EMI advertising inner.
Vinyl (Ex-) Looks in great shape and has only seen light to moderate use. Under close inspection there are a number of light marks, but nothing troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a NEAR EXCELLENT level of playback with one deviation. The audio comes across with great clarity and only light occasional interference. We did detect some in the odd track, but nothing remotely invasive. Please note one light mark across the last two tracks does cause a few crackles. Make no mistake about it THIS is THE way to listen this album. Forget all that duphonic crap - get the real deal. This LP really needs an early copy with a transfer straight from the mono master to do it justice. The audio here is awesome! [Please note - one of the labels has been signed in the perimeter].
Cover (Ex) In great condition with a beautifully shiny front and a rear free of the usual ravages of ageing. Flipbacks all intact and no hidden rips or tears. The spine is 100% intact and overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. Difficult to imagine bettering.
Inner (Ex) No ageing or splits.
