Description

An original Mono 1st pressing of 'Pet Sounds' on the UK Capitol label. Matrix 1/1. Stampers 1-GL/1-GT. The labels are consistent with 1st issue and exhibit the 'Sold In The UK..' statement. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Garrod & Lofthouse mono cover with flipbacks. Also included is an original white generic patent no. inner sleeve. So, 100% complete and 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Ex) In lovely condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection there are a few marks - but nothing troublesome or likely to cause issue. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. The audio quality is very nice indeed....none of that duphonic nonsense....this is proper true-mono straight from the master tapes! No need to rave about the music... it speaks for itself. Do yourself a favour....listen to it the way it was intended. Interference is minor and infrequent. All we could detect was a few light crackles momentarily in a couple of tracks and certainly nothing remotely invasive. A truly impressive rendition and will leave you wanting more!

Cover (Ex-) In great shape with a truly superb front cover with a couple of creases over at the opening. The rear has been well cared for too and seems to have largely avoided the usual ageing process. Edge wear is light and the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and really is a superb specimen.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing and no splits.
