Description

An original 1st mono press of 'Pet Sounds' on the UK Capitol label. Matrix 1/1. Stampers 1-PA/2-PA. Please note the label design is consistent with a 1966 1st pressing along with 'Sold In The UK..' statement across the middle. Also included is the original generic white inner sleeve from the time. So, 100% complete and 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Ex-) In very nice condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection there are a few light marks per side - nothing heavy or troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly NEAR EXCELLENT level of playback with one deviation. A great pressing delivering true mono from a solid pressing - none of that duphonic crap! The audio quality is really good and a decent mono copy is precisely what you need to reveal the great record that is 'PET SOUNDS'. Interference is minor and infrequent. It won't quite hit the top grades, but it is clean enough for most folk to thoroughly enjoy. Expect the odd crackle here and there, nothing upfront or persistent. The deviation...In the opening seconds of track 4 on side 1 - I detected a couple of clicks..which are soon over. It delivers all these classic tracks with aplomb.
Cover (Vg+) In great shape and has been looked after down the years. Very nice clean and shiny front with only a couple of thumbnail creases. The rear appear to have avoided the worst of the ageing process. All the flipbacks are intact and secure. Edge wear is reasonably light and the spine is mostly intact except for one stress knock. All the text is still legible barring the "y" of 'Boys'. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing and a couple of age spots.
