Description

Very nice condition and scarce copy of an original 1965 UK Mono version of this classic Capitol Beach Boys album.

Originally released in the US and distributed extensively worldwide, it has since been re-issued and re-pressed heavily over the years and there are several versions out there with subtle sleeve and label variations.

These original UK versions came in both Mono (1965) and Stereo (1966) and are easily identified by the Capitol 6 series label design with the rainbow rim.

Vinyl: Ex - Super clean copy - remarkable condition for its 51 years of age!! Lovely deep lustre and sheen with only light superficial hairline surface marks. Play-tested and reproduction is spot-on. Some very light crackle and hiss on the run-ins but any minor imperfections are lost behind the audio track. This mono copy carries the Capitol 6 series label design - black with silver label text and a rainbow rim. Oval Capitol logo to the left of the label with "Long Playing High-Fidelity" text written vertically from bottom to top. This UK version also carries the "Sold In The U.K" text and the embossed "KT" tax coding by the spindle hole on side 2. Writer credits are in brackets and immediately follow the title track listing. There is only light evidence of spindle-wear.

Sleeve: Ex - Great condition laminated flip-back, featuring a band photo on the prow of a yacht on the front cover. Rear cover is typically plain white with track-listing and sleeve-notes from each of the band members with a small black and white portrait photo. Print finishing is by Garrod & Lofthouse. Structurally, the sleeve is entirely intact with no splits or tears. The flip-backs are all securely stuck down and the laminate is in super condition, keeping the cover nice and fresh. The spine remains nice and solid, there's a slight corner crease beginning to develop and a hint of ring-wear.

It's a fantastic copy of a fifty one year old classic and genuine collector's item.
