The 1965 album was the Beach Boys' eighth studio album and the first of three to be released that year. The record contains the original version of the classic hit "Help Me, Rhonda". "Today!" marked a major turning point for the band, and especially the exhausted Brian Wilson. This was the point Wilson gave up touring, and many consider this the beginning of his artistic maturation.
One side of the album contains upbeat songs including "Do You Wanna Dance" and "Help Me Rhonda" while the second side features ballads such as "Please Let Me Wonder" and "Kiss Me, Baby". Aside from their highly successful "Pet Sounds", "Today!" is their most highly acclaimed.
