Rarity: Fairly Rare especially so being a Capitol Red & White A Label (Demo) in this Wonderful condition and with it's Original Sleeve. It also has the KT tax code Embossed onto the Label of Side 1: There were probably No more than 250 copies of these Pressed so how Many are Still around today over 50 Years later? Especially in this wonderful Playable condition.

Brief Artist & Album Info: "The Little Girl I Once Knew" is a song written by Brian Wilson for the American rock band the Beach Boys, released as a Non-Album single in 1965 It is Unusual in that it uses stop-start melody sections and a few dramatic periods of Silence lasting several seconds each. AllMusic called the song "a Virtual link between the slightly progressive work on songs such as "California Girls" and the then-quantum leap taken by Wilson on "Pet Sounds" and "Good Vibrations'".

"The Little Girl I Once Knew" follows Familiar territory as the Beach Boys 1964 outtake "All Dressed Up for School", telling the story of a guy who Reacquainted with a girl from his past who has now grown up and Catches his eye. According to Mark Dillon, some speculate that the song Was written about Brian's then-wife Marilyn Wilson. Mike Love Reportedly had a hand in the lyrics. In the 1990's, his lawsuit for Officially recognized writing contributions Failed to include "The Little Girl I Once Knew

CONDITION: 

Labels: The Capitol Red And White (Demo) A Labels are both in Great condition with Very little Spindle Wear and Spider Marks. There is no Writing, Label Lifts or Marks anywhere. All of the printing is Readable and the Red A looks Stunning against the White backdrop. It also has the KT tax code embossed into the Push out center of Side 1: and both sides have "DEMONSTRATION RECORD NOT FOR SALE". I would easily grade these as Very Good ++/Excellent!!!! 

Vinyl: Plays throughout absolutely Fine with no Pops, Clicks or Jumps. However there is some light Background noise Noticeable during the Beginning, End and the Quieter passages. The record still Retains that glossy sheen though there are several surface marks and thumbnails to be seen, these in NO way interfere with the Lovely sound quality. This Single plays up to and  beyond its visual grading with hardly anything of note to fault. It offers strong, distortion-free sound, all frequencies are sharp and clear – sound quality is very high with a wide dynamic range and very detailed sound. A typical polished production from Brian Wilson. Minimal surface sound and no tracking issues. This play-grade proved a real pleasure when playing this fast disappearing single, this being the first example I have had for some time, and possibly the best all-round one for me yet. It will prove quite Difficult to find a significantly better copy and merits a Very strong recommendation. I would grade both sides as Very Good ++!!!! 

Cover/Sleeve: The Sleeve is constructed of a very Flimsy paper and has done Very well to Still be around today more than 50 Years later. There are there is a Split to the Left side Edge and a Previous owner has Written "Unchained Melody" and the number 5 to the Front of the Sleeve. There is a light Indentation from where a Previous owner had stored the Single within the Sleeve. This Sleeve is Incredibly difficult to find in Excellent or Better condition simply because of it's design and age. However I would be happy enough to grade it as Very Good ++!!!!

Cover/Sleeve Summary: Not seen often, this one is in Nice condition with only Gentle clues of age, any blemishes mostly light. This classicSleeve (as described) should please many collectors. 

Album/Single Played For Grading: I play/grade ALL records I offer before submitting, I also play them in their entirety unless clearly stated otherwise. I do NOT play snippets or joining grooves to check for sound quality and quietness – I play from the beginning to end. I use a Linn LP12 Sondek turntable with Ittok Mk II arm and Ortofon Quintet Black moving coil cartridge and Linn Lingo, with my Linn system and Forest Totem Speakers. This system is guaranteed  to pick up any distortion or interference within the sound. 

Grading: In my opinion I REFUSE to believe that there is ANY record that can be truly graded as Mint; the BEST that could be offered is Mint- (minus)!!!! Especially so from the 50's, 60's, 70's or even up to the present date!!!! Even copies bought new today would have some form of imperfection on the Record or Cover!!!! Under that assumption I will NEVER use the word Mint in any of my descriptions and Mint- is the HIGHEST grade I would ever offer. So I will only from Excellent, Good or Poor with a -(minus), +(plus) or ++(plus, plus)!!!!
