The Beach Boys Wild Honey 1967 Mono 1st Press Shrink EX/EX.
For auction is an excellent listeners copy of Wild Honey by the Beach Boys. The bands thirteenth studio album released in December 1967. It was their first album that was influenced by R&B, specifically Stevie Wonder. A cover of Wonder’s “I Was Made To Love Her”, was included on the album as its only none original song. The album only peaked at #24 on the Billboard 200, their worst showing on the US charts up to that time. Now Wild Honey is considered by many critics to be a pioneering record that started a trend of a “back to the basics” approach to composing and recording. It is admired for it simplicity and viewed as an underrated album. In 2020 it ranked #410 on Rolling Stone’s list of “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”. This copy is a mono 1st press.
Vinyl is play graded EX. A few light visible surface marks that are purely superficial. Plays with the faintest of background noise if any. No skips or jumps. Please see pics.
Cover is also in EX condition. Still in shrink and has very few signs of shelf wear. Price sticker on front with black marker scribble on it. Ring wear on back. Please see pics.
