Per Wikipedia, The Beach Boys are an American rock band formed in Hawthorne, California, in 1961. The group's founding members consisted of brothers Brian, Dennis, and Carl Wilson, their cousin Mike Love, and their friend Al Jardine. One of the most popular and influential acts of the rock era, they are known for their musical ingenuity, vocal harmonies, and lyrics initially reflecting a southern California youth culture of surfing, cars, and romance dubbed the "California sound". The album, Surfin' Safari is the debut studio album by the Beach Boys, released on October 1, 1962, by Capitol Records. Brian Wilson wrote or co-wrote nine of its 12 tracks. The album reached number 32 in the US during a chart stay of 37 weeks. Richie Unterberger, in a retrospective review for AllMusic, felt that most of the songs on Surfin' Safari are substandard, but that as the album was recorded by the Beach Boys themselves rather than session musicians, it offered an opportunity to hear what the band sounded like in the studio. This particular recording is a 1st edition monaural release on the Capitol Record label and was manufactured at Capitol's Los Angeles pressing facility. The debut album consists of 12 tracks with a 24+ minute run time. The cover is in EX condition. There are no split seams, no siginificant wear along the edges or corners and no evidence of disk ring wear. There is no discoloration to the covers. The inner sleeve is enclosed in a poly vinyl paper sleeve. The record has been cleaned and tested using Audacity. All tracks are free of skips and there is no background noise. The sound is strong and clean. The vinyl surfaces show no significant wear and there are no obvious defects such as scratches or scuffs. All labels are clean and intact. By Goldmine standards for grading records, this recording would rate EX/NM.
