A superb 1978 UK red-vinyl edition of The Beatles – 1962-1966, the celebrated compilation universally known as the Red Album.
Issued by Apple Records as catalogue number PCSPR 717, this special coloured-vinyl edition spreads 26 classic Beatles recordings across two striking red vinyl LPs.
The runouts carry early YEX 905/906/907/908 matrices, with HTM mastering inscriptions appearing on Sides A, B and D.
Covering the extraordinary period from the band’s first singles through to Revolver, the collection moves from Love Me Do, Please Please Me and She Loves You through to Help!, Yesterday, Norwegian Wood, Paperback Writer and Eleanor Rigby.
A particularly attractive vintage Beatles pressing in excellent overall condition.
Condition
Sleeve: VG++
The original laminated gatefold sleeve presents extremely well with only very light signs of previous storage and handling.
The distinctive red-bordered artwork remains clean and bright, with only minor age-related edge, corner or laminate wear preventing a full EX grade.
Overall, a particularly strong example of the original 1978 sleeve.
Vinyl: EX
Both red vinyl records present beautifully with clean, glossy playing surfaces and only minimal signs of previous handling or play.
Any visible marks are extremely light and superficial, with all four sides comfortably deserving the EX grade.
The translucent red vinyl remains especially attractive when held to the light.
Please study all photographs carefully as they form part of the description and condition assessment.
