Description

Being offered is a UK first pressing of what is usually known The Beatles "Blue Album." The first pressing is identified by no credits to George Martin or Phil Spector on the sleeve, the sleeve to be manufactured by Garrard and Lofthouse Ltd, the inner sleeves to have sometimes 3 corners cut off, sometimes two as in the case of the example offered, but never rounded as in later pressings.
The label to have the distinctive Apple logo against a particular shade of blue background and other printing details which you can see from the photos of the labels , and the matrix runouts to be YEX 909-1 etc.
In respect of grading, my process is to listen to the record after giving it a a quick sweep with a velvet cleaning pad and then playing it and waiting to be disappointed . In this case the only disturbance was 4 pops on Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds and 3 clicks on I am a walrus. In the event of any sonic disturbance I then clean the vinyl with vinyl clear cleaning fluid and play the offending tracks again. The LSD pops disappeared but the clicks on I am a Walrus sadly remained. I therefore am more than happy in giving the vinyl an overall grade of VG+. If you look at the close up of the spindle holes these vinyls have hardly ever been played.
Re the album sleeve, from photo 4 you will see that the credits weren't clear enough for a previous owner and so they have "helpfully" gone over, with love,  in biro where the printing appeared faint to them. Photo 7 shows that the head of the spine is rubbed otherwise everything is beautifully clear and unrubbed. Photo 9 and 10 show the corners of the sleeve opening , very little to report.
Please note that the free postage offered is for the UK only.
