■ Record Condition: EX
All four sides show only light surface scuffs and marks.
There is one small scratch of approximately 1 cm on Side 2, but it does not affect playback.
I listened to all four sides from beginning to end.
Playback is excellent overall with almost no noticeable surface noise.
One small pop is heard during “Back in the U.S.S.R.” on Side 3.
One faint pop is also heard during “Here Comes the Sun” on Side 4.
Apart from these minor points, playback is very clean and enjoyable throughout.
The records are graded EX.
■ Sleeve Condition: EX
The gatefold sleeve with original obi remains in very nice condition with no major damage.
The obi is clean, and the inside of the gatefold is also very well preserved.
There is only normal age-related and handling wear.
Overall, this is a solid and attractive EX example.
■ Included
Original obi
Original inner sleeves
Japanese lyric insert
■ About This Release
“1967-1970,” commonly known as the Blue Album, was originally released in 1973 as an official collection covering the Beatles’ remarkable later years.
The famous cover recreates the EMI headquarters balcony pose from the Beatles’ early years, allowing the Red and Blue Albums to show a fascinating visual before-and-after of the band.
This Japanese edition was issued as a special 20th Anniversary blue vinyl release, making the beautiful blue-colored records a perfect match for the legendary “Blue Album.”
■ Listening Note
One of the pleasures of listening to this collection is following Paul McCartney’s melodic bass playing.
On several tracks, the bass seems to move almost like another melody, giving the music a wonderfully smooth and flowing feel.
It is one of those details that becomes even more enjoyable when listening closely on vinyl.
■ Play Tested
All four sides have been fully play-tested on my audio system.
Please note that playback characteristics may vary depending on the turntable, cartridge, stylus and tracking-force settings.
■ Packaging and Shipping
These records will be carefully packed with protective materials and shipped in sturdy packaging suitable for international transportation.
They will be shipped from Kanagawa, Japan using a tracked shipping service.
Tracking information will be provided after shipment.
