Description

The Beatles "White Album", topload gatefold genuine Uk Stereo 1st press, No. 300318, 1 Owner and amazing history but no posters or lyric foldout.

Hello there.  What we have here is a rare 1 owner copy of this classic Beatles release that has seen zero play for decades and is surely about as good condition vinyl wise as one could hope to find.  It was bought new by my dear (but sadly passed) father way back all those decades ago.  It has remained in his collection ever since.  From 1983 where we moved to our current home, this record along with almost every other has received zero play.  It has been kept upright in the main rack away from any heat sources at all times... never in the loft!  Being a laminated gatefold the outer sleeve shows some wear on the spine where the laquer has peeled abit but still retains great structural integrity and it still feels very solid all round.  All edges are fine, ive tried to capture the bottom which is most susceptible to wear and you can see its very minimal.  All in all, while it does show signs of its age the jacket is very tidy and still strong as the pictures hopefully somewhat show.  The inner record sleeves in black are still functional and show no damage or wear of note.  Worth noting of course that this is the top opening gatefold that was unique to the first pressings produced upto 1969 and not the far more common side opening reissues produced thereafter.

The records are the most important aspect of course.  I cannot play the records myself as im not in posession of a player at the moment but i have been collecting vinyl myself for some time now and have seen what can visually constitute good and bad and this combined with fathers inherent desire to keep everything in good working order gives me confidence.  So yes the record on all 4 sides shows signs of use but in all instances the use appears totally minimal.  The spindles show no wear at all but there is minor hairline scratching present on all 4 sides albeit nothing that can be felt or would give any cause for concern and on the whole they look very clean and tidy for 52 yr old records.  What little play they would have had was on dads old Linn sondek with Nagaoka mc cart.  I truly believe there is nothing here that is likely to cause poor reproduction on decent (or better) equipment but i would recommend a good clean no less for best results as theres bound to be some contamination despite being stored well.

As mentioned the only real negative is this copy does not have the posters or foldout lyric sheet that many have, which surprises me as all dads other Beatles uk originals are complete.  I have adjusted the price somewhat to reflect the missing pics but it still reflects the amazing condition of the vinyls and the package as a whole.

Should somebody buy the record i will pack and ship safely via Royal mail 1st class signed for at my own expense.

Thanks for looking.
