Description
This one is complicated so please read full description so that there is no confusion. This is a 1986/87? release. It comprises all 4 Ed Sullivan Show appearances. It was originally released on the Toasted label. The first record has the Toasted label. The side 1 matrix number is EDS-9164-A. The side 2 matrix number is EDS-9164-B. So far so good? The second record has the Black Bird Label. It says side A and side B, but it is sides 3 and 4. The matrix number on the side A of this record is 1309-A with the original Toasted matrix number EDS-9164-C scratched out. The matrix number on side B is 1309-B with the original Toasted matrix number EDS-9164-D scratched out. Does your head hurt yet?
I dropped the needle on all 4 sides for about 30 seconds each to verify that this is indeed the complete 2 LP set with all 4 shows. Other than that, this record has not been played to my knowledge.
Comes from a private collector that bought records but didn't own a turntable. Go figure.
So to recap: side 1 - EDS-9164-A side 2 - EDS-9164-B side 3 - EDS-9164-C scratched out: 1309-A side 4 - EDS-9164-D scratched out: 1309-B For those who do not know, the first record on the Black Bird label has the matrix numbers of 1308-A and 1308-B. So 1309-A & B would be correct for sides 3 and 4. Come on, admit it - you need a hit after that. It's ok. I did too.
Bottom line is that there are 2 different labels but the whole 2 record set is complete and correct.
