In this auction are the following:
1 Capitol Records Cardboard Picture Cover & 1 Capitol Records EP 7-inch record
Here are the details:
· “4-BY THE BEATLES” Extended Play (EP) by The Beatles
· This is Capitol Records R-5365.
· It was issued February 1, 1965.
· This EP contains 4 songs. Side 1: “HONEY DON’T” & “I’M A LOSER I”. Side 2: “MR MOONLIGHT” & “EVERYBODY’S TRYING TO BE MY BABY”.
· This EP was issued in a cardboard cover entitled “4BY4 THE BEATLES”.
· The CARDBOARD PICTURE COVER is in VG CONDITION. There is moderate overall cover wear on both sides that can be seen in the images of this item. There is a small spot (the size of a dime) of bubbling on the rear cover (beside George’s knee), where a sticker was removed (with no paper loss). There is some moderate corner wear on the 2 bottom corners, on the rear cover. These cardboard EP covers often developed seam splits over time. However, this cover has NO seam splits and NO writing and NO tears, too. On the rear cover, there is a small spot at the bottom right corner and moderate wear to the image in the center area and on the song title “Everybody’s Trying”.
· The VINYL is in GOOD CONDITION. There are numerous surface hairlines/scuffs. No scratches are “feelable”. There is moderate wear on the labels with a tear on one label. There is writing on both labels.
· The EP format (7-inch record with 2 songs on each side) for Beatles’ records was not common at all in the U.S. In fact, only 3 Beatles’ EPs were commercially released in the U.S. in the 1960s: 2 were issued by Capitol Records and another was issued by Vee Jay Records.
· It’s a RARE BEATLES CAPITOL EP that, though not in the best condition like Near Mint or VG+, can be a “place holder” in someone’s vinyl collection.
