Hello everyone.
Despite the lack of desired success on the EP format in 1964 Capitol decided to once again try it out. After releasing "Beatles '65" in December they took some tracks off the album and issued "4x4 - 4 by The Beatles" in February 1965. Housed in a sturdy cardboard picture sleeve the songs are
Side 1     (matrix number R-1-5365 F1) 1. Honey Don't 2. I'm A Loser
Side 2     (matrix number R-2-5365 F1) 1. Mr. Moonlight 2. Everybody's Trying To Be My Baby
The matrix numbers are etched and not stamped. This is the West Coast pressing.
Now that we got that covered let's talk about some details which are found in the photos. The previous owner obviously had this on display somewhere as evidenced by the hole in the center of the jacket. Photo 3 shows the number "23" written in the upper left corner. Photos 4 and 5 show an overview of the jacket and the spine which has a little wearing.  There are no rips, separations, or anything that needed taping. No outside markings like a name or "Jimmy hearts Susie" or any of that stuff. The sturdiness of the cover is intact.
Now the vinyl. Photo 8 shows a slight bending which I'm glad to say does not affect play. The record has a couple of surface marks which like the bend do not affect play. There was a skip towards the end of "Honey Don't" that was eliminated by a cleaning. However during the manufacturing process a small bump occurred which is shown in photo 9. As you know no amount of cleaning will knock that out. This bump is in the same spot on both sides of the record. No skipping but a little annoying.
