Description
So heres the deal. Parlophone EMI decide to re release a copy of the original 45 of Love Me Do b/w P.S. I Love You for the 50th anniversary. There were 3 original recordings of the single. Ist recording done in June of 62 with Pete Best prior to Ringos arrival. 2nd recording done on September 4th of 62 with Ringo drumming and once again on September 11th 62 with session drummer Andy White on drums and Ringo relegated to tamborine. A side is numbered 45R- 4949 and the b side incorrectly marked as 45R- 4714 which wasnt even a Beatles single for EMI. It was a release number for Matt Monro. They release on June 5 2012 10000 copies of the Andy White version which Apple immediates recalls to destroy and even tells them to destroy the Andy White master tape. They re re release it again on Oct 12 2012 with Ringo on drums and the numbers corrected in 6000 copies. How many originals got loose is unknown. Many retailers had preorders and mailed them immediately. This is one of the 10000 misprints with Andy not Ringo with 49R-4714 instead of 45R-4949. It is new sealed unplayed out of print and recalled. Thanks for looking and Happy Trails!
