THE BEATLES: ‘A COLLECTION OF BEATLES OLDIES’ – AN ORIGINAL 1966 UK BLACK AND YELLOW PARLOPHONE FIRST ISSUE MONO FACTORY SAMPLE VINYL LP – PMC 7016.
GUARANTEED ORIGINAL, FIRST ISSUE, COMPLETE, AND A SUPERB EXAMPLE.
First released on the 9th December 1966, the vinyl LP is on the traditional black and yellow Parlophone Label, with ‘The Gramophone Co Ltd’ label rim, and ‘Sold in UK…’ label text.
Both record labels are in superb Excellent Plus to Near Mint condition, bright, clean record labels, showing just a few light centre spider trails, with no fading to the Silver and Yellow text
Side 1 matrix: XEX 619-1G and Side 2: YEX 620-1G.
Side 1 stampers: 1 OD and Side 2: 2 MP.
There is an embossed ‘KT’ tax code to the centre of the side 2 record label.
Both sides of the Vinyl disc are in superb Excellent Plus condition, clean and bright unworn vinyl surfaces, showing a couple of light, non sounding, surface hairlines, but NO deep scratches or scuffs.
The album plays very well throughout with NO skips or clicks.
The album comes in it’s original EMI Advertising Made in Great Britain Inner Bag which is a nice example, no seam splits.
And is housed in its ORIGINAL First Issue Laminated Garrod & Lofthouse three flip back sleeve, printed ‘mono’ to the top right hand corner of the front of the sleeve, and with three flipbacks to the reverse. Unusually the Official Factory Sample Sticker is adhered to the reverse of the sleeve, these stickers are normally placed on the record label.
The Laminated sleeve is a superb clean example, and in Excellent condition. The front panel is glossy, with only a couple of mild corner bumps, the reverse panel of the sleeve is very clean, the flip backs, spine edge, and other edges are undamaged.
Overall a nice example of this ORIGINAL UK FIRST ISSUE mono Factory Sample Beatles compilation album.
