Description

** We have recently acquired a nice collection of Beatles albums and singles, all originally purchased by the same person when the records were released.  Please feel free to check our other Beatles auctions, there are some nice early pressings and Fan Club Christmas singles as well.  We always combine shipping costs! **

The fifth photograph on this auction shows all eight Beatles albums that we are currently auctioning, this is to give you an idea of the condition of the sleeve spines, which are generally excellent.  This auction if for just one of those albums:

 

Artist :  THE BEATLES

LP Title :  A Hard Day's Night

Label :  Parlophone / PMC 1230 / 1964 / MONO

Matrix Numbers :  XEX 481-3N  [stamper: 2 , A R (plus 'O' with an 'X' crossed through it)] / XEX 482-3N [stamper: 4 , GP]

Notes :  1st Mono Pressing, black & yellow Parlophone labels with 'The Parlophone Co.' text around rims, 'Sold In UK...' and 'Recording First Published in 1964' text in label centres, plus 'K T' tax code embossed on the side-1 label, front laminated E.J.Day flipback sleeve with small solid 'Mono' text in top right corner, lined Emitex inner sleeve.

Condition :  The vinyl is EX- with a few light hairline marks visible, I am playing through this now and it sounds more like EX+ with a few tiny crackles and a hint of minor distortion in the louder song sections.

The labels show light signs of wear and have some spindle wear to the centres.  The Emitex inner sleeve shows a little creasing/wear/marking from use.

The sleeve is clean and glossy, it has some light corner rubbing and a handful of little laminate lines.  The text on the spine is completely unworn.  There is minor wear to the opening edge.  The matt surface to the rear of the sleeve has handling marking down the opening edge and a few other spots from storage/use.

A very nice example of this classic Beatles album.
