Description

This is The Beatles third studio album, 'A Hard Day’s Night'.

 This is an original UK 1st Pressing produced in 1964 which features the sought-after yellow and black Parlophone labels.

 

Cat: PMC 1230 (Mono)

Matrix: XEX 481 - 3N, XEX 482 - 3N

 

Many vinyl records are mis-sold on eBay. There are several details which identify this copy as a true 1st pressing. They are:

 

• Front side laminated Garrod & Lofthouse flipback sleeve.
• Medium sized MONO on the front of the sleeve.
• Black labels with yellow Parlophone logo.
• ‘Recording first published 1964’ printed over two lines.
• ‘PMC 1230’ catalogue number.
• Matrix numbers XEX 481-3N (side 1) and XEX 482-3N (side 2).

 

Vinyl: Excellent

The vinyl is in great visual condition with super playback.

The vinyl surface retains the original gloss sheen.

The labels are bright and have minimal spindle wear.

There are subtle hairline marks which can be picked up in bright light.

The audio on both sides is crisp and with very little background crackle. A real depth to the tone on this first pressing with no skips or jumps.

Overall, it Is a pleasurable listening experience.

 

Sleeve: Good+

The sleeve is in good+ condition.

The laminated front is very clean and the rear is not laminated.

This copy does have wear and tear on the opening edge – please see pics.

The corners, and spine are in very good condition.

There is no writing present anywhere on the sleeve.

 

Inner Sleeve: Very Good

The inner sleeve is the original polythene lined ‘protect your records’ Emitex copy. It is creased in one edge.
