THE BEATLES original first pressing A HARD DAY's NIGHT

This really is a rare, hugely sought after very 1st MONO pressing with "Sold in U.K.", "Recording First Published 1964", and "THE PARLOPHONE CO." included within the vinyl label text and lovely condition front-laminated flipback sleeve
Both sleeve and vinyl are in excellent condition and the quality of the audio is also impressive. Here comes some further detail...
The Garrod & Lofthouse outer sleeve is in excellent condition, with the front laminate completely intact, and barely any scuffing on the edges. The spine is rigid and suffers only from the merest hint of age discolouration, though there are seven approx 1cm horizontal laminate creases emanating from the spine inwards. There are also 4 vertical and very, very minor surface creases at the top edge. The edges themelves, including the spine, are completely intact though there are 5 very, very small nicks at the bottom of the front cover. Each corner suffers from some little rubbing, but nothing of any real significance. There also two laminate/surface creases on the from lower quadrant : you need to hold the cover at the right angle and in the right light to identify them but they are there! The rear of the cover is truly excellent : each of the flipbacks are in A1 condition with no tears, rips, or sticking blemishes. The only other blemish is some very mild brown age discolouration along each of the flipbacks and along the top of the front cover. I should stress that each of the aforementioned blemishes are relatively minor and do not detract from the vibrancy of the colours and overall stunning impact of the outer sleeve.
Both sides of the thick, heavy vinyl have retained much of their original sheen though there are some hairlines and surface rubbing most of which is only visible when held against a bright light : the overall appearance is very good+. None of these minor blemishes negatively impact upon the overall impressive audio quality.
The quality of the audio is excellent- overall. There is, in a few places, some very, very light background "fuzz" (hardly noticeable) but no skips, clicks, or crackle : even the silence between the tracks is exactly that - just silence! The listening experience of this ground-breaking album is a joy - just sit back and enjoy each track in full blown wonderful mono...a true 60's experience and, for me, a mono sounding record of this ilk and quality is the closest you can get to having The Beatles actually playing "live" in your living room!!

Each label is excellent with the "J" and "M" tax codes in evidence on side 2. There are a number of light spindle marks around the centre holes, however, and one spindle line on side 2 which protrudes to the circumference of the label.
The original "EMITEX" inner sleeve is excellent and fully functional but does suffer from some mild age discolouration.
I would grade the overall condition of this package as at least very good, bordering on excellent; it's not perfect, mint, or near mint, however, but at the same time I'm certain that you'd need to go a long way to find a better copy.

Excellent Description: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. Very Good Description: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable. Good Description: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.Fair
Description: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
