Description

A genuine 1st mono from 1964. Matrix 3N/3N - 1st cut. Note that absolute 1st press is identifiable by the wide-body chubby font employed on these labels. Labels mention 'Parlophone' and 'recording 1st pub' - indicative of 1st press. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original Ernest J Day cover with the Emitex inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In lovely condition and has only seen relatively light use. I could only make out a few light marks per side - nothing that seems to give this beast any issue. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are lovely quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Given that this copy is close onto the initial masters you will be witnessing a really early copy of this famous title. And you can certainly hear the clarity in these earliest copies. It's a very nice clean player - not perfect...but impressive given the vintage. Expect just a few crackles in one isolated spot per side. Highly recommended!
Cover (Vg) A clean looking front with just some light stress creases at the edges. The rear has escaped the worst of the usual ageing process - but some is in evidence at extremities. There's also a blemish toward the foot. The spine is pretty much all intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg) A bit aged. No splits.
