Description

A genuine 1st mono from 1964. Matrix 3N/3N - 1st cut. Note that absolute 1st press is identifiable by the wide-body chubby font employed on these labels. Labels mention 'Parlophone' and 'recording 1st pub' - indicative of 1st press. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original Ernest J Day cover with the Emitex inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In lovely condition and has only seen light use. I could only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are lovely quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Given that this copy is close onto the initial masters you will be witnessing a really early copy of this famous title. And you can certainly hear the clarity in these earliest copies. It's a beautifully clean player. Pretty much as good as the best copies I've ever witnessed. Clean into the trickier lowkey moments. Expect just a few crackles in one isolated brief spot. Highly recommended! Owners name applied to one of the labels.
Cover (Vg) A clean looking front with hardly any creasing. The rear has escaped the worst of the usual ageing process - but some is in evidence at the opening. There's also some names written at the top. The spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg) A bit aged. No splits.
