The Beatles, A Hard Days Night LP PMC1230 1964 Original Early Mono Press Vinyl Album
Vinyl Professionally cleaned with ultrasonic machine - please read below for condition.
This great Album in good usable condition and would enhance any Record Collection
Barcode and Other Identifiers - Parlophone - PMC 1230
- Matrix / Runout (A-side label, in brackets): XEX.481
- Matrix / Runout (B-side label, in brackets): XEX.482
- Matrix / Runout (Tax code Embossed on A-side label): MT
- Matrix / Runout (A-side runout, stamped): XEX 481 - 3N RAT 7
- Matrix / Runout (B-side runout, stamped): XEX 481 - 3N RAD 5
The main differentiator of this early pressing, compared to later versions, is the black and yellow Parlophone label with the perimeter rim copyright text, 'THE PARLOPHONE CO LTD • ALL RIGHTS OF THE MANUFACTURER AND OF THE OWNER OF THE RECORDING WORK RESERVED • UNAUTHORISED PUBLIC PERFORMANCE BROADCASTING AND COPYING OF THIS RECORD PROHIBITED'. Above the spindle hole the centre text, 'SOLD IN THE U.K. SUBJECT TO RESALE PRICE CONDITIONS, SEE PRICE LISTS'.
There are a number of other differentiators present on both the labels and the cover.
Label:
1 - Has a 'chubby' font with the right-hand side indicator numerals appearing under the '2' in the catalogue number 'PMC 1230' above them.
2 - The publishing copyright date is given as 'RECORDING FIRST PUBLISHED 1964', and is nearly left-aligned compared to the matrix number above it.
3 - The group's name 'THE BEATLES' is closer to the 'Northern Songs Music Ltd.' publishing credit below it than the '(Lennon-McCartney)' credit above it.
4 - A2 'I Should Have Known Better' has it's title split over 2 lines.
5 - All of the song titles on side 2 appear on separate lines.
6 - The MT purchase tax code embossing on the label on either side of the spindle hole.
Cover:
1 - Front laminated, tri-flipback and printed by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd., with a medium 'MONO' indicator on the front, top, right hand corner.
All Records and CD's for sale are from my own treasured collection, I'm only selling because due to age and health we are having to downsize our house, so will have nowhere to keep them.
Record Condition - I'm trying to be as clear as possible so you know what your buying.
Outer G&L Laminated Cover Sleeve is In Very Good Condition For Age, slight wear on opening edge, a few creases in laminated front, some light edge & corner wear and some age related discolouration
Original Polylined Emitex Inner Sleeve is in Very Good Condition.
Vinyl is In Fairly Good Condition, it has some hairlines and light surface scratches, Both sides play through and sound OK with some crackles & clicks throughout as you would expect, it is 57 years old, Mono and well used, Great Album

The problem is know matter how hard you try you're bound to miss some form of background
noise at some point, also different Needles, Stylus's (depending on wear) and players,
can pick up clicks, crackles and hiss that others don't so I can't guarantee total accuracy
of my description. However I honestly do my best when describing the condition of my records and have always looked after all my music whether CD,Record or DVD.
Most Vinyl's no matter how well they have been looked after or where you get them from, will have some hairline's. You will get those just by removing the vinyl from the inner sleeve, I have never knowingly kept any records with deep, bad scratches or that jump.
I'm happy to combine postage on multiple items, just buy all you want but Don't Pay, and I'll send a revised invoice with the revised postage rate.
