Description

An original 2nd stereo press on UK Parlphone from January 1965. Matrix 1/1 - per 1st cut. Stampers 2-RT/3-OG. Please note label design is consistent with an early Q1 pressing from '65 with the perimeter text still mentioning 'Parlophone'. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original "Large Stereo" Garrod & Lofthouse cover. Also included is the original Emitex inner sleeve. We will transport in an anti-static inner for maximum protection. So 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) One word...Wow! If only ever early 60's copy looked and played this darn good. Check the labels shots out - this is one very low-mileage copy. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of very light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ of playback without reservation. A stunning player and certainly one of the best renditions of AHDN I've ever witnessed. The audio is just clean and very assured - with practically no signs of use in the audio at all. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. It's just one of the super well presereved copies that surfaces only once in a while. I'll do my usual catch-all...you might detect a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments. A storming performance...FINAL UPGRADE.
Cover (Ex/Ex+) Again, the original owner was clearly one fastidious individual. A beautifully clean, unaged, and unworn front cover. In fact, I'd go as far as saying this front cover looks "new". The rear is equally impressive and seems to have avoided the usual ageing process. The only defect that I can barely make out is a small blemish in the "stereo information box". Edge wear is pretty much non-existent and the openings are still sharp. The spine is 100% intact. A perfect mid-60's copy...how many have survived in this kind of condition?
Inner (Vg+) A bit aged. But no marks or splits.
