The Beatles: A Hard Days Night UK 1964 Vinyl Stereo 1st Press + Emitex. Ex Audio.

PLAY TESTED. ABSOLUTELY NO SKIPS, JUMPS OR STICKING. EXCELLENT AUDIO.

PCS 3058, Garrod & Lofthouse front laminated cover, with mid-sized stereo to front. Tracing-paper-lined Emitex die-cut inner. No tax code.

This is a first press stereo, from July 1964. Black label with yellow logo and silver print. ‘Parlophone Co Ltd’ perimeter print, recording first published 1964, and ‘Sold In U.K.’ text. Matrix YEX 126-1 & 127-1.

This copy is known as Variant A, with chubby and rounded typeface.

VINYL AUDIO. EXCELLENT. ABSOLUTELY NO SKIPS, JUMPS OR STICKING.

There’s only very light surface noise/static on intros to either side, and very little between tracks. Very little ‘crackle’/‘pop’ during tracks. It’s an excellent audio experience throughout.

VINYL APPEARANCE. VG+

Both sides have just a very small number of light marks/hairlines/signs of handling. Nothing deep or feelable, and absolutely nothing that interferes with playback. (See photos)

LABELS. VG+

Side 1. VG+

Clean, bright and graffiti free, though with clearly visible/noticeable spindle marks/ware to centre holes. VG+

Side 2. VG+

As above. No tax code.

SLEEVE. VG+ (Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. Patents pending.)

The front side has some creasing/light scuffs, along with some feathering/very small tares to opening (see right of George). Some very light scuffing to the corners, which are otherwise strong.

The spine is very strong, easily legible, with just one tiny crease. Excellent.

The rear panel is VG++, with just some very light scuffing. The flip-backs are strong, with a little creasing. Very little edgeware throughout. VG++

ORIGINAL PATENT APPLIED FOR EMITEX TRACING-PAPER LUNEX INNER. VG++

This is the original Emitex die-cut tracing paper lined inner. There’s just a small tare (about 1 inch) to one side, and just a little creasing/yellowing/spitting due to age.

So in conclusion, this is an original Stereo 1st press of ‘A Hard Days Night’ in its original inner, with excellent audio, in a G&L sleeve, that’s VG+. An essential edition to any serious Beatle collection.
