Description

A Hard Day's Night in STEREO 1st Pressing from July 1964 on the UK Parlophone label. Matrix -1/-1. Stampers 1-RP/2-AO. Please note this is the very first label design for AHDN - the 'chubby font' is acknowledged as the true first pressing of this album. Look at the word 'STEREO'... it extends all the way to the 'E' of 'Parlophone'. Whilst the stereo format became more widespread in the late 60's early copies are far far rarer than their Mono counterparts. The record comes housed in an original Garrod & Lofthouse cover including original Emitex inner sleeve.
Vinyl (Ex+/NM) Not much to say apart from wowzers! This copy really is a knock-out...It's hard enough trying to find a top mono copy, but finding a Stereo copy in this condition is like striking gold. The vinyl is shiny like new and has clearly only seen a very modest number of plays. Under close inspection I can barely see a mark on either side - so it really has been looked after very very carefully in deed. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are absolutely silent and the audio comes across with total clarity. I don't think even the best mono copy that I've ever played quite matched this one. I didn't detect more than one or maybe two ultra light crackles through-out the entire playback. And the clarity of the audio is really breathtaking right down to hearing Ringo hitting the wooden-block. So, not only a rare article but one you're very unlikely ever to need to improve upon - a final upgrade.
Cover (Ex-)  Again, has been very carefully looked after. The front is lovely and shiny with a couple of light creases and feint indentations. The rear still retains much of its original 'whiteness' and only suffers from some light ageing in a couple of places. The only noticeable deterioration is the record store sticker residue down in the bottom left - see pic. The cover itself retains a really good level of rigidity and there's very little edgewear at all - just a small amount on the spine. A really well preserved cover and very rare to boot....
Emitex (Vg) Is in very good condition, but has tanned. There's a two-inch split on one seam, but in all other respects very decent condition.
