The Beatles A Hard Days Night Vinyl UK 1st Press 1964 MONO.
First pressing - Variation A.
You can also tell it's a first pressing by the fact that there is a Parlophone and Co. Label on the perimeter print (rim) of the label instead of Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd found in later pressings. The Parlophone and Co. label on the rim was only used in the first pressing for this album.
In variation A 1st presses, the title on the label called "songs from the film A Hard Day’s Night" takes up more width across the record as opposed to other 1st press variations.
The Matrix numbers are as follows:
- Side 1; XEX 481-3N
- Side 2: XEX 482-3N (see photos).
These matrix numbers are only found in pressings 1-4 in mono for this album.
The outer sleeve is in good condition especially for its age.
The inner sleeve is a Decca inner sleeve. EMI sometimes housed their records in Decca inner sleeves. These were used for Decca contract press releases as well as Ernest J. Day/Garrod & Lofthouse printings like this one.
The Vinyl itself is in great condition with no skipping or clicking during tracks and only light pops and clicks between tracks. You can listen to the recordings of both sides of the album if you follow the links below.
